I’m trying to find an mp3 (I don’t have a turn table to play a 45) of the song “Money Hungry” by “The Starlets”. The label and number is “Pam 1004”. I was hoping that maybe you had it, or know someone who might have it. It is a great tune. I’m surprised that it isn’t on a comp.

    Thank you,

    Dean

PS – You have a great blog!

I love your blog and respect your opinions. So, wanted to know what y’all thought of these two modern “throwback” sould artists:

    1) Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
    2) Ryan Shaw

    thanks,

    Barry

I love Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings. I’m not familiar with Ryan Shaw. What kind of stuff is it?

    Hi There,

Noticed someone talking about Ryan, love his music. Anyway, awhile back you did a hammond organ special. I was wondering if you ever thought of doing a mix of great bass guitar or drums?

    Thanks
    Lavi

Wonderful, wonderful site. Keep up the fantastic work.

I’m trying to track down two songs. Wonder if you know of them. One was a single by a Ramsey Lewis like soul jazz trio I believe called Fathers and Sons.

The other, I can’t get out of my head, but I don’t know who it was by or the name of the song. It had a sort of Bo Diddley beat, and each chorus would end with a trumpet led horn section hitting a bunch of triplets and a group of people yelling something that sounds like “Can I Do It.” I’ve searched for the song under that title but no luck.
